It has been a long cherished wish of the people of Bamanghati Subdivision to have a good
English Medium School up to Plus Two level at Rairangpur. The local people felt that, the lack of a good English Medium School, was one of the reasons of backwardness of this Sub Division. Under these circumstances, a group of intellectuals of Rairangpur, formed a Society and approached Kerala Public School Trust to set up an English Medium School. It was a humble beginning with 55 students.
Mr. A P R Nair, Chairman of Kerala Public School Trust and Mrs. Vijayam Kartha the Academic Director of the Trust without considering the monitary benefits invested for the infrastructure. Today their tireless and selfless efforts bear fruits. Kerala Public School, Rairangpur is in the 19th year of its existence and has gained much popularity amongst the ICSE Schools of Odisha.
We obtained recognition from the State Government in the year 2001 and got affiliated to the Council for the ISC Examination in the year 2002. So far 11 batches of students have passed out from the School with flying colours.
Despite being in a rural area with limited resources, the School has been developing steadily. It has not only proved the excellence in curricular activities but also in extra curricular field. The students of the School brought laurels to School by winning national and state level prizes in the field of sports, creative writing, oratory, Science exhibition , cultural art forms etc. The School has also bagged the best school award in Science Exhibitions in the block level consecutively for three years. Every year the students bag a number of prizes in the competitions conducted at the Sub Divisional and District level as well. Today it is a residential School which provides a niche to 150 students from the educationally backward areas of Jharkhand and Odisha.
The School is a happy family and the students are the most important members in it. With a band of passionate and dedicated teachers, we are striving ahead to achieve our future endeavors.
Although our journey was full of challenges and occasional hazards in all the perplexities. Yet the Almighty has given us strength and fortitude to continue our journey. We pray the Almighty, to bestow his blessings up on us to achieve success and glory further, and also for strength and vigor to uplift the under privileged mass of this back ward District of Odisha.
The great end of education is to discipline rather than to furnish the mind; to train it to the use of its own powers, rather than fill it with the accumulation of others.
